Our Global Employer Services team supports international private clients as well as companies and their global workforces, while liaising with teams across the Deloitte network in supporting and assisting clients and their needs. Our work entails providing comprehensive tax advice as well as assistance to high-net-worth individuals in their relocations and personal concerns.

This is an opportunity to grow within a role that involves a variety of activities, ranging from the carrying out of targeted research to the drafting of advice to clients, as well as assisting the team in engagements pertaining to work permits and relocation support.

How you will Make an Impact

This role will require reporting directly to the team leaders and taking responsibility for drafting tax advice, conducting topical tax research, and proactively assisting clients in their day-to-day requests.

Your main tasks would include:

  • Advise clients on issues relating to local tax laws, reporting requirements, statutory filings, and other relevant taxation matters;
  • Proactively assist in the day-to-day requests of a portfolio of clients reporting to Senior Managers and the Director leading the team;
  • Liaising with the Malta Tax and Customs Administration to discuss client tax issues, and supporting team leaders in ensuring that client deliverables and project deadlines are met;
  • Assist multinational companies address their global workforce income tax and immigration compliance needs locally;
  • Review AML documentation and ensure compliance with local laws and internal requirements;
  • Reinforcing technical competence by keeping up-to-date on local and international personal income tax developments, trends and legislative changes, and applying this to client situations; and
  • Utilize and assist in the application of Deloitte technological tools for the purposes of client delivery.

Your Specialized skills:

  • Be in possession of a Master in Accountancy, Master of Laws (LL.M.) or hold the equivalent of an ACCA qualification;
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience within local industry - preference will be given to candidates with exposure to Personal Tax;
  • You’re eager to continue building a career in local taxation, with a keen interest in Personal Tax;
  • Be able to work independently on their own initiative;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to staying abreast of tax regulations and effectively communicating such updates to the team;
  • Be able to work on cross-functional engagements with other service lines within the firm;
  • Be self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills, and willingness for growth.


Ways to stand out:

  • Be in possession of the Malta Institute of Taxation Course on Taxation.
