How you will Make an Impact
The chosen talented individual will form part of the Financial Services Risk & Regulatory Advisory team, focusing on financial services governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The chosen candidate will have opportunities to also work across all areas of our Risk Advisory practice.
The Financial Services Risk & Regulatory Advisory team sits within Deloitte’s Risk Advisory business which is a leader in the provision of professional services in the areas of Regulatory and Strategic Advisory, Internal Audit, IT & Specialised Assurance and Internal Control Advisory.
Your main tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
- Obtain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s business and internal risk management and regulatory compliance framework and controls, to identify shortcomings and areas for improvement and make recommendations that add value to the business
- Carry out in-depth reviews of clients’ compliance with relevant current and future regulations, providing gap assessments and remediation recommendations that add value and support the client in achieving regulatory compliance whilst also optimising internal processes
- Assist clients in developing stress testing exercises to analyse the impact of internal and external shocks and scenarios to their capital and liquidity reserves
- Carry out research and build technical knowledge on new or changing regulations of interest in all areas of governance, regulatory compliance and risk management, including considerations for technology support tools
- Apply previously acquired technical knowledge on relevant regulatory, compliance or risk topics in a relevant and proportionate manner to the client’s business and circumstances
- Review policies and procedures that reflect the client’s internal processes and include recommendations made to strengthen internal controls and regulatory compliance
- Document work performed and findings in a logical, thorough and structured manner, in line with firm methodology and relevant guidance
- Drafting reports, including communicating findings to senior management
- Contribute to market eminence activities such as creation of thought leadership and participation in industry events
- Advise the client on solving control design issues based on industry leading practices and regulatory requirements
- Plan and execute a project to deliver a superior client experience, including managing, guiding and training a number of team members, in collaboration with the management team

- Offers clear insights to enhance the quality and value of proposals, solutions or business offerings as appropriate for their business
- Works on opportunities to enhance our eminence in the marketplace as identified by and under guidance of leaders
- Critically evaluates work prepared by team members, providing constructive feedback as needed whilst ensuring required project timelines and client expectations are met
Your Specialised skills:
- Minimum of 3 years’ working experience within Risk, Compliance, Finance or similar, with a focus on financial services and/or regulatory compliance
- University degree in Banking and Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field
- Experience within a supervisory role, or within the second or third line of defence of a business, will be considered favourably.
- Knowledge and experience of the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP), the Capital Requirements Regulation and Directive (CRD/CRR), and/or EBA, ESMA and MFSA guidance around aspects of financial services regulation, and their implementation in practice, will be considered an asset
- While not essential, any experience working on financial risk tools or application of modelling techniques will be considered an asset
