A central role within the CIO Operations for the NSE Technology function, the PMO Governance & Reporting Manager will support the running and continual improvement of the NSE Enterprise Portfolio Management function, the key focus of the role will be supporting our three capability areas of Demand and Portfolio Management, Governance and Strategic and Portfolio Management reporting.
Reporting to the NSE Head of Portfolio, this is an opportunity to contribute to the evolution and integration of the Technology function across NSE.
The role is central to the CIO Operations function and Technology teams across NSE in providing a coordinated approach to our NSE Portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
- Define and document the PMO governance framework, including policies, procedures, templates, and guidelines for project management methodologies, tools, and reporting
- Establish clear roles and responsibilities for project stakeholders and governance bodies
- Develop and conduct training programs on PMO processes, tools, and governance standards
- Monitor project compliance with established methodologies and governance requirements
- Implement and maintain the PMO governance framework across all NSE Geographies projects and programs
- Develop and deliver regular reports to senior management on project portfolio health, governance compliance, and areas for improvement
- Conduct regular reviews, audit and assurance of the PMO governance framework and processes
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction

The ideal candidate will have:
- Deep understanding of PMO governance principles: This goes beyond basic project management. You need to know how to establish structures, policies, and decision-making processes that ensure projects align with organisational strategy
- Knowledge of recognised Project & Programme methodologies is essential, as you'll be tailoring governance to fit different project types
- Process mapping & optimization: Using critical thinking skills, you'll analyse existing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and design more efficient processes
- Change management skills: Implementing new governance structures will meet resistance. You need to be a persuasive communicator and manage stakeholder expectations
- Data-driven mindset: Using KPIs and metrics to track governance effectiveness and demonstrate the value of your work is crucial
- Exceptional written and verbal communication: You'll be creating documentation, delivering presentations, and facilitating workshops for diverse audiences
- Diplomacy and negotiation skills: Gaining buy-in from project managers, sponsors, and team members requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to find common ground.
- PMO certifications (PRINCE2, PRINCE2 Agile, MSP, APM, SAFe)
