Manager - Data Ethics


We are seeking a Manager to join the Data Ethics team at Deloitte Risk Advisory in Milan and Rome, working in a Hybrid mode.
The Data Ethics team supports major national and international market players in ensuring the ethical and compliant adoption of applicable data and new technologies (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Metaverse, etc.), fostering innovation. 
We deal with the definition and implementation support of:

  • Processes and technologies for assessing and managing the risks and ethical impacts associated with the use of AI and new technologies; 
  • Methodologies for the responsible adoption, use and management of new technologies, ensuring compliance with key regulatory and ethical requirements.

Your Role


The Manager will play a strategic role: leading a team, sharing their expertise and approach, they will be responsible for client relationships, fostering business development and handling.
Specifically, you will be responsible for: 

  • Lead the team in executing complex AI & Data Ethics project activities with national and international market-leading clients in different industries (Financial Services, Energy, Telecommunications Media & Technology, Healthcare), with governments and public sector clients; 
  • Identify clients' needs and support them in using and governing new technologies in an ethical and responsible manner, implementing a holistic and risk -based approach to cybersecurity, privacy and data ethics; 
  • Expand our service proposition and develop new business propositions, enhancing our tools, methodologies and resources to sustain our market-leading position as innovators in data and cybersecurity;
  • Interact with internal stakeholders, institutions, universities, associations and key technology players to initiate business relationships and conduct research activities that encourage the responsible use of new technologies.


Winning Requirements


  • More than 5 years of experience, preferably in a consulting company or similar role;  
  • Degree preferably in Law, STEM disciplines, humanities (e.g. sociology, philosophy, criminology) or equivalent;
  • Solid knowledge of the European Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) and familiarity with the main standards and guidelines in the field of information security, AI and data;
  • Experience in Risk Assessment & Management, in the development of Data & AI Policy or guidelines and in the processes of compliance analysis and adaptation to European laws in the digital field;
  • Experience in independently coordinating complex projects, both as subject matter expert and engagement manager;
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and in reporting and communication processes towards clients;
  • Advanced knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.
