Global Mobility & Compliance Specialist

Your Story

What impact will you make?

Can’t wait to make an impact on the world? You’re not alone. Join us in driving progress in the working world and beyond. We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual with a strong work ethic, who has experience and is passionate in assisting prospective employees to relocate to Malta, and engage in screening and compliance related activities.

What you will be expected to do:

As a Global Mobility & Compliance Screening Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the onboarding of international talent from pre-employment screening through to relocation and work authorization in Malta. You will ensure candidates meet the Firm's compliance requirements while also facilitating a smooth immigration and relocation process, acting as a point of contact throughout their onboarding journey.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Immigration & Mobility Management

  • Managing the complete work permit application process for third country nationals, EU citizens, and Maltese citizens;
  • Assisting with relocation and onboarding of international employees, serving as a key point of contact throughout their mobility journey;
  • Ensuring full compliance with Identita’s work permit and visa requirements and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes;
  • Coordinating with Line Management, Legal professionals, and external authorities to facilitate seamless international assignments.

Candidate Screening & Risk Assessment

  • Conduct pre-employment screening and due diligence checks on prospective employees and vendors.
  • Review screening results through relevant compliance platforms and assess potential sanctions, PEP, adverse media, criminal, or regulatory risks.
  • Verify candidate identifiers and investigate possible matches to eliminate false positives.
  • Escalate high-risk findings and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Candidate Experience & Onboarding Support

  • Act as the primary point of contact for international hires throughout screening, immigration and relocation processes.
  • Guide candidates through relocation requirements, housing considerations, tax registration, social security and local administrative requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR, hiring managers and government authorities to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

Let's talk about you

  • You have 2-3+ years' experience in immigration, compliance screening, employee onboarding, or related operational functions.
  • You possess a strong understanding of Maltese and Schengen immigration regulations and work authorization requirements.
  • You have the ability to analyze information critically, validate personal identifiers, and assess potential compliance risks.
  • You are highly organised, capable of managing multiple case files and strict regulatory deadlines simultaneously.
  • You communicate effectively with candidates, government authorities, HR teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with compliance screening tools, sanctions screening, due diligence platforms, or background verification processes will be considered an asset.
