Role Overview:

As the Manager of the Independence Team, you will play a key role in leading and overseeing the planning, design, implementation, and execution of independence quality controls at Deloitte Italy. Your focus will be to ensure that the organization adheres to regulatory independence compliance requirements, while driving behaviors aligned with the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance Management: Oversee activities related to compliance with the International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM 1), including evaluation, monitoring, and remediation efforts.
• Documentation & Process Updates: Maintain and update firm processes and controls, ensuring they are documented accurately and in line with required regulations.
• Status Reporting: Regularly present status reports on compliance and independence activities.
• Independence Breach Management: Analyze and resolve potential breaches in independence, ensuring adherence to all policies.
• System & Process Monitoring: Ensure that the company’s systems, processes, and procedures meet all compliance requirements and deliver quality results.
• Support Business Development: Assist with independence due diligence in respect of potential acquisition targets.
• Regulatory Responses: Prepare and implement reports and action plans in response to regulatory requests and practice reviews.
• Team Leadership: Lead a team of Personal Independence Managers, setting clear targets, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development.
• Innovation & Process Excellence: Champion initiatives designed to improve independence compliance across the organization.
• Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with senior leaders within Deloitte Italy and other Directors of Independence from the network to drive independence quality control activities.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience in audit, assurance, or relevant professional qualifications with a background in quality/risk management and independence procedures.
• Strong experience in managing a team and driving projects to completion under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering complex messages to senior leaders.
• Strong analytical and interpretation skills, with the ability to handle complex strategic concepts.
• Ability to think proactively, take initiative, and work under pressure while maintaining compliance.

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in independence and compliance management, with a proactive and commercial approach to resolving challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage teams, and interact with various levels within the organization.
