As a Data Engineer Consultant with a focus on Databricks, you will be involved in the development and optimization of data pipelines and data architectures for the efficient analysis and processing of large volumes of data.

Conceptualization: You design data platforms with Databricks as well as the underlying cloud infrastructure to implement scalable ETL pipelines for batch and streaming processing.

Implementation: As part of the introduction and continuous optimization, you contribute your expertise to the implementation of Databricks-based data platforms.

Consulting: Develop future-oriented Data & AI Engineering solutions using the most innovative technologies that help our clients use data as a basis for business success!

Collaboration: In collaboration with cross-functional expert teams, you understand business requirements and are able to jointly translate these into technical solutions.

Co-creation: You actively contribute to the development of best practices to continuously optimize the service portfolio and ensure internal knowledge transfer.

#OurRequirements

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, (Business) Informatics, (Business) Engineering, Economics with an IT focus, or comparable courses of study.
• Databricks Platform Expertise: Strong hands-on experience administering and managing Databricks environments.
• Unity Catalog with External Locations: Ability to configure and govern data access and metadata management across external cloud storage locations.
• Workspace Administration: Proficient in managing users, groups, permissions, clusters, and workspace resources.
• Metastore Management: Skilled in managing metadata repositories, schemas, tables, and access controls.
• Serverless Features: Experience with configuring and optimising serverless compute resources in Databricks.
• Databricks Apps: Capability to develop, deploy, or manage custom applications or integrations within the Databricks ecosystem.

Bonus Qualifications

• Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) Knowledge: Familiarity with identity management and authentication types in Azure.
• Azure Infrastructure Experience: Practical experience with Azure services relevant to Databricks, including:
• Azure Databricks Service configuration and management
• Storage Accounts and Key Vault for secrets management
• Networking components such as VNETs, Subnets, Private Endpoints, and Service Endpoints
• Version Control with GitHub: Comfortable working with pull requests and collaborative source control workflows.
• GitHub Operations: Proficient in Git operations and source control best practices.
• GitHub Actions: Experience with automation workflows, including composite actions and matrix deployments.
• Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, including handling variables and secret injection during deployment.
