Do you want to be part of our dynamic audit shipping department that has audit clients listed on both NASDAQ and NYSE? You will have the chance to test SOX compliance and audit both private and public shipping companies that use IFRS and US GAAP accounting frameworks and you will become member of a team of people with extensive knowledge and experience in both PCAOB and ISA audits.

Your role as a Manager will focus on the management and delivery of client engagements, as well as sales and practice development. In this role, you will develop and coach high performing people and teams, leading, guiding and supporting them to make an impact that matters, and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.

During your tenure you will demonstrate and develop your ability to:

• Take the lead on developing and challenging the risk assessment and controls testing and determining the appropriate audit response for risks identified

• Review documentation of risks assessment and the planned audit response early in the audit cycle

• Review working papers with an appropriate level of professional skepticism, identifying significant judgments and considering whether evidence demonstrates that professional skepticism has been applied and sufficiently describe the basis for conclusions reached, including analysis of reasonable alternatives, consideration of the relevant underlying principles and consideration of related issues

• Recognize areas of significant judgment and involves appropriate consultation to deal with complex matters and applies an appropriate level of professional skepticism

• Discuss key audit and accounting judgments on a timely basis with the engagement partner

• Identify early the audit approach to be taken, including resources to optimize audit execution, and checks that adequate resources are scheduled to perform the work

• Proactively challenge the audit timetable and ensure that the plan takes into account lead times for Audit Delivery Centers and internal specialists and that information is requested from management at the appropriate time in order to ensure that Audit Delivery Center or internal specialist work can be completed in line with the audit timetable

• Understand clearly how the audit plan links to the engagement budget and check that both consider the use of Centers of Excellence, changes in technology and changes in methodology, and have a contingency allowance where new approaches are being used

• Keep abreast of new version releases of Deloitte Way Workflows and build in regular discussions with team members to consider application in context of the stage of the audit.

Specifically, candidates should posses the following attributes:

• A minimum of 7-8 years of solid work experience in Audit, Private and Public, Reporting under IFRS and US GAAP

• Holders of a professional qualification (JES, AMP, SOEL, ACCA, ACA)

• Strong technical and auditing skills, with exceptional knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.

• University Degree in: Accounting / Auditing / Finance / Economics / Business Administration and a Postgraduate Qualification in a relevant area. Other academic background with quantitative skills and relevant experience will also be considered as a strong asset

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Greek and English (Proficiency)

• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor

• High level of discretion for confidential work and information

• Strong organizational skills

• Good interpersonal and supervisory skills and ability to motivate and lead and capacity to work effectively within a team
