We are currently seeking for a professional with exceptional leadership skills and an ability to develop our dynamic and highly motivated team in Athens.

You work directly with business leaders to strategically shape and grow the Actuarial & Insurance Solutions team. You provide a range of services at every stage of insurance lifecycle from product development and launch to reserving, pricing, and monitoring, capital optimization, actuarial modelling, risk management, M&A due diligence and other actuarial consulting engagements for a range of local and international clients. You manage a portfolio of clients, develop team capabilities, and help build a sustainable pipeline by focusing on business development initiatives. Through your coaching and leadership, the team is motivated to deliver high quality work.

Your role as a Director will focus on the delivery of client engagements, by understanding objectives for clients and Deloitte, aligning your own work to objectives and setting personal priorities, teaming with others across businesses and borders and taking accountability for own and team results. In this role, you will build relationships and exercise your communication skills in order to positively influence your peers and other stakeholders.

We provide a robust consulting service with both traditional and non-traditional service offerings to assist insurers, reinsurers, captives, pension schemes, Banks and non-financial related entities. Our actuaries regularly partner with actuaries globally on cross-border engagements as well as professionals in accounting and other specialist service lines. This enables us to provide a breadth of expertise and tackle problems not possible in most other actuarial consulting firms. We have a proven track record in developing robust and practical solutions to a variety of actuarial and risk challenges.

During your tenure as a Director, you will demonstrate and develop the ability to:

  • Provide strategic advice to clients on a wide range of actuarial matters, including but not limited to business planning, reserving, insurance pricing, capital optimization, risk management and regulatory reporting;
  • Lead and manage actuarial teams in delivering complex projects related to Solvency II, IFRS 17, and actuarial modeling, ensuring high standards of quality;
  • Take ownership of business development activities, identifying new business opportunities, leading client proposals, and expanding our actuarial and insurance services portfolio;
  • Act as a subject matter expert on technical issues with regards to Solvency II, IFRS 17, actuarial modeling, and related regulatory requirements, supporting clients in navigating regulatory changes and enhancing their actuarial frameworks;
  • Work closely with Senior Leadership in developing strategies to grow the firm’s insurance advisory practice, and contribute to thought leadership initiatives;
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including insurance companies, regulators, and other industry professionals;
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to build their technical and professional skills;
  • Serves as a role model for integrity, respect and inclusion, demonstrating an appreciation of others, including their unique strengths and differences.

#OurWinningRequirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any other field with strong quantitative focus;
  • Fellow or of the Society of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, Institute of Actuaries or equivalent;
  • At least 10 years of professional experience within the insurance industry; ideally from a consulting capacity;
  • Experience in long-term (re)insurance markets;
  • Extensive experience in the insurance sector, with deep expertise in Solvency II, IFRS 17, and actuarial modeling;
  • Strong technical background in actuarial techniques in pricing and reserving;
  • Proven track record in business development, with the ability to identify opportunities, lead client engagements, and contribute to the growth of the actuarial practice;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage complex projects;
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and keen to take on the upside opportunity in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Military obligations fulfilled where applicable;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & Greek
